Hi there! I’m Sam and I am an Australian teacher with a passion for inclusion and all things UDL. I have over 12 years of experience in various roles in education from learning support to advising principals and leaders in curriculum and inclusion.
My dream for education is to ensure that learners are engaged in learning that is relative to their lives and what they are passionate about in a context that makes them feel like they belong and can be their true selves. Lets get real. We don’t know what our students will face in the future but we need to prepare them for it. I believe that UDL is a tool that educators can use to do that.
As well as having my dream, I am passionate about teachers having the support and tools so they can provide this education to learners. What is education without great teachers? We need passionate teachers that care about our learners more than ever before.
My hope for this blog is to provide quick snippets of information and ideas that teachers can use in their classrooms straight away (because you are busy). My job is to gather all the important and relevant information you need to know as an educator and provide real life practices and ideas that can help you implement UDL in your classrooms.
I would love for this blog to be interactive and a space for teachers to share as well. So please feel free to comment and share your experiences and passion at the bottom the posts so that we can learn from each other.
Happy Educating!
Sam
